International films at GFF third edition to keep an eye on

Gouna Film Festival will take place between September 19 and 27 this year, with many prominent stars and filmmakers attending including our very own Mena Massoud.

Apart from guiding aspiring filmmakers through their numerous workshops, El Gouna Film Festival always highlights important movies in the region as well as international ones.

So movie buffs get ready and check some of the acclaimed international films confirmed for GFF’s third edition.

Parasite 2019

A highly praised South Korean movie and the winner of Palme d’Or, the movie was also nominated for multiple Cannes awards.

The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão 2019

A Brazillian-German drama that won the Prize of Un Certain Regard at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, and based on the 2016 novel The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão written by Martha Batalha.

Song Without a Name 2019

A Peruvian drama film directed by Melina León, which was screened in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

Bacurau 2019

A Brazilian fantasy that won a Cannes jury prize and an ARRI/Osram Award for Best International Film.
The movie was also nominated for Palme d’Or and several Cannes awards.

Pain and Glory 2019

Starring Antonio Banderas and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, the Spanish film was nominated for various Cannes awards, including Palme d’Or, Cannes Jury Prize, and Cannes Grand Prix.

Once in Trubchevsk 2019

A Russian drama that was screened in the Un Certain Regard category at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

Deerskin 2019

The French comedy directed by Quentin Dupieux was screened earlier this year in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
