An evening spent rocking, swaying and cheering to one of the most stage masterpiece performances. That’s what happens when three awesome bands took over the stage over at Family Park – New Cairo on Friday’s evening.
Autostrad, Massar Egbari and Sharmoofers put the stage on fire and the crowd erupted along with them.
The minute we set foot in the park’s entrance you could feel the excitement vibrating through the waiting queue. Everyone was buzzing, snapping selfies, strapping night-light bracelets to their wrists, laughing, reciting songs they know by heart and getting ready for a rocky evening. We walked in after careful screening, top-notch organization and order, and there it was an arena large enough to fit a crowd of anticipating fans. Lining up, the crowd began to move closer and as tight as it was – everyone wanted to be as close to the music as possible – no one cared.
First to take over the stage were the Jordanian Indie band from Amman, Autostrad. With their Jordanian dialect lyrics mixed with rock & indie music, they dominated the stage and the crowd sang along. Their songs not only sound good, they mean something to each person standing and listening; talk of love, struggles, passion and challenges; people related to every word.
Second on the stage came the barreling force that is Massar Egbari. The crowd stood like an army answering to the calling of its generals and with every note of rock and jazz music, every song, every word, the crowd’s voices got louder and louder, repeating after Hani El Dakkak’s rocking voice. People swayed, danced, jumped, clamped and sang at the top of their lungs and it was magnificent to be right there in the middle of it.
Last but not least on the stage were an explosive fierce and high السلام عليكم and the crowd roared back to Sharmoofers. They took the stage last but they put it on fire, whether you were spent and exhausted from the last four hours of awesome performances, people ran back closer to the stage, formed lines and pumped their feet to the rising notes of the songs. Sharmoofers believe that music is the road to happiness and they put us right on track towards that.
Music Scene Festival was a fierce, magnificent performance that we’re sure that each person who attending had as much fun as we did. And now we’re left with hope in our hearts for a similar spectacular performance and bands collaboration.
The night started off with the amazing, rocking song of Autostrad, moved on to the beautiful, strong music and voices of Massar Egbari and ended with the fiery happiness of Sharmoofers.
