Rami Malek refuses to let Bond villain be a stereotypical Muslim terrorist

Rami Malek has been making headlines since his successful show Mr. Robot then; he made us all proud when he won his first Oscar for his role in Bohemian Rhapsody this year.

However, when the news of Malek starring as the villain in the next James Bond movie dropped, fans got a bit worried. As we all are aware of how goes the Hollywood treatment of Arab or Muslim character in their movies, from clichéd stereotypes to negative representation.


But after his interview with Digital Spy, fans could breathe easier as Malek promised everyone that he will not portray a stereotypical Middle Eastern villain.

Rami assured the readers that he will not identify his character to any ideology or religion, and it’s not something he would even entertain.

Needless to say, many appreciated his courage and his unwillingness to portray the character in a negative light.


He always expressed pride in his roots and shared his experience as a first-generation American many times.


Malek Already shot key scenes in the film thought he kept tight-lipped about revealing any details regarding the upcoming Bond movie.
He also expressed his enthusiasm for working with Daniel Craig, as he always admired him as an actor and found him especially captivating in Layer Cake and of course Bond Movies.
