“Cairo has been looking forward to the new ballroom since work began”, said Sameh Sobhy, General Manager, Semiramis InterContinental Cairo. “The reopening of the Cleopatra Ballroom after renovations has modernized this iconic venue. A professional team of experts with decades of experience are available to ensure that everything flows smoothly.”
Designed by trendsetting firm Celia Chu Design & Associates, the Cleopatra Ballroom has a capacity of 1,847 guests and boasts a pillarless open space with a high ceiling adorned with 236 crystal chandeliers. It took some 200 workers to complete the 12-month renovation in a conceptual design where shapes and colors fall together to create a feeling of space. The 1,500-square-meter Cleopatra Ballroom is divisible with separation walls into four separate rooms – the Blue Nile, White Nile, Kharamana and Morgana. The Nefertiti lounge is a multi-purpose space that can be used for smaller meetings, as a VIP lounge or a meet and greet space. It also lets in daylight and boasts a partial Nile view.
The redesign has made this grand venue the newest player in town with its state-of-the-art facilities and its versatility.
