Oscars : Let’s start from the great ending to the promising beginning …
Parasite made history at the Oscars last night, becoming the first non-English, foreign film to win best picture.
This is barrier breaking and we think there is no one can underestimate the Korean cinema from now on.
Parasite, not only won Best picture, but also Best original screenplay, Best international feature film, and Best directing by Bong Joon ho.
The crew shed happy tears and rushed to stage right after the announcement of winning the 4 Oscars in a marvelous moment for all the Koreans around the world.
If you did not watch it yet, let us give you a hint about it:
The film is talking about that Jobless, hopeless, unmotivated patriarch, Ki-taek, and his equally unambitious family. His supportive wife, Chung-sook, his twentysomething daughter, Ki-jung, and his college-age son, Ki-woo–occupy themselves by working for peanuts in their squalid basement-level apartment. Then the story takes us in a Crime, Drama, Comedy, Thriller lines for this misplaced familyhood.
Parasite will be screened on Zawya Cinema screens this Tuesday 11th February at 7 pm.
For South Koreans , it was a moment of unconditional national pride.
Way to go , Parasite guys !!
